Emergency Response Initiatives and specific areas of Focus

As the prevailing conflict continuous to ravage in certain areas, PCO has responded in locations where we have and can provide value added humanitarian assistance and where security allows. Our emergency response, in Unity, Warrap, Jonglei, Western Equatoria, Western Barl Gazal, and Lakes states build on existing programs and technical expertise such as

• Peace building and Governance,
• Water Sanitation and Hygiene,
• Food Security and Livelihoods,
• Education in Emergencies,
• Health and Nutrition,
• Non-Food Items,
• Protection including Child protection & GBV
• Organizational Development for Sustainability.
• Camp Coordination and Camp Management

PCO’s initial assessments indicate that more than 60 per cent of displaced people are women and children. We ensure that our response programming takes into consideration the different needs of women, men, boys and girls.
