Procurement Of Livestock

12 healthy bulls of between 1 year and 1.5 years were bought from the livestock local market in Wau with the help of a veterinary doctor from the MoAR for the first 6 groups (Marial Bai, Wadhalel, Kuajiena, Kuom, Achot and Barwol). This was after receiving a letter of approval from the MoAR. To each of the groups, 2 bulls and 1 ox plough were given, pending training by Save the Children.

The number of bulls had to be reduced to 6 (six) in order to allow us acquire the ox ploughs from Uganda which proved more expensive than earlier estimated. Part of the Livestock budget was therefore shifted to the procurement of the ploughs because the bulls are locally available and can be got any time, given funds.
